We were totally exhausted and soaked after the storm and the only thing to do was to take a day to dry and rest. Loreto was the perfect place for a day off. Our hosts (Sandra, Lalo and familia) generously provided place to stay and fed us enormous quantities of amazingly delicious food. On top of that we had free Spanish lessons. I noticed that my expressions in this seemingly easy language often made everybody smile and laugh:) Here is the time to mention that our stay in Loreto and San Quintin (up north) was arranged by a warmshowers host – Gabino. He is a totally amazing person. He was so dedicated to provide comfort for us. I do not know many people who would put so much effort in helping out total strangers. Made me feel so grateful and wonder, whats the thing that motivates somebody like him. Unfortunately we could not spend time and get to know him.
After almost two days in Loreto, which resulted in couple of kilos body weight extra due to the meals of Sandra, we had a short afternoon ride to Ligui. A small fishing village, the last one on this part of the coast of the Sea of Cortes, before the road heads over the mountains inland towards Cuidad Insurgentes. The ride along the coast and through the mountains was just unbelievable. I have no hope, that the couple of pictures here could express the overwhelming feeling of joy created by the majestic scenery.
